“Trust the Process”

By Dianne Prince

“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1, NIV).

We all have “loose ends” we are waiting on God to tie up. When things haven’t fallen into place, and God does not seem to be moving, it’s easy to feel frustrated or anxious. Yet, the delay is God saying to us, “Hold on. It’s not time yet.” God operates on His divine schedule, not ours. We may see delays when things seem to come to a standstill, but God sees preparation. We may want things now, but God is arranging details we cannot see, setting the stage for something far greater than we imagined.

Abraham and Sarah waited decades for their promised son, Isaac, and during that time, they took matters into their own hands and made a mess of things. But their interference did not change God’s plan or His promise to them. When the appointed time came, God fulfilled His promise just like He said. We may be tempted to take matters into our own hands, but that often leads to unnecessary pain, disappointment, and situations that cannot be reversed.

Your reminder for today is this: Trusting God’s timing requires admission that you have no power to influence the outcome of anything. It required you to totally surrender your will and hold out for Him to move. Psalm 27:14 encourages us to “Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart.” While you wait, know that God is at work behind the scenes, orchestrating events for your good. What seems like a delay is often a divine setup for something better than you could ever imagine.

So, if things haven’t fallen into place yet, hold fast to God’s promises and trust the process. And when the time is right, everything will fall into place exactly as God planned.
