“Uncertain Days”
By Dianne Prince
“Fight the good fight of the faith” (1 Timothy 6:12, KJV).
God never told us to fight people, circumstances, finances, or the devil. Instead, He told us to love people, trust our circumstances to Him, live as if He will supply our needs, and use His Word to resist the devil so that he will flee. The only thing God told us to fight is the good fight of faith.
The good fight of faith is believing that the Word of God works even when we cannot see it working. It is standing our ground on the Word of God against all odds, no matter how dark, low, or hopeless the situations or circumstances may seem. The good fight of faith is not about looking back at what happened yesterday, but looking forward to what God promised He will do today.
Every time life knocks you down, through prayer, keep fighting to hold on to your faith. Every time you hit rock bottom, keep fighting to believe that what God promised you in His Word will come to pass. These are changing times, and changing times require us to hold fast to our faith. Yes, times change, society’s values change, people change, and expectations change. The moral compass of those around us changes. But amid all of that, Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He has never changed, and He will never change.
Today, as you navigate these uncertain days, keep fighting to hold on to your faith—your faith in God, your faith in people, and your faith to believe that what you see today is not how things are going to end up. God is watching over every Word He ever promised you, and He is quietly working to see that it is fulfilled at His appointed time.
“The Lord said to me, “You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled” (Jeremiah 1:12, NIV).
