“Walk His Way”

By Dianne Prince

“He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked” (1 John 2:6, NKJV).

To truly follow Jesus means more than believing in Him. It means becoming like Him. It begins with being with Him. Just like close friends grow more alike over time, spending time in God’s presence through prayer, worship, and His Word shapes our hearts. It softens our demeanor. It teaches us how to form honest, healthy relationships with others. And it anchors us in truth.

As we are transformed to become more like Him, His compassion shows up in us. His wisdom shapes our words. And His patience drives our response. We do not have to force it. It is the natural result of abiding in Him. We start to think like Jesus. We start to love like Him. And we start to forgive like Him.

And finally, we begin to do what He does. Jesus did not just sit with the Father. He fed the hungry. He healed the hurting. He welcomed the outsider. And He spoke the truth in love. As we stay close to Him, His Spirit empowers us to live that same way in our world — with our families, coworkers, neighbors, and even strangers.

So today, do not rush through your day. Slow down. Keep company with Jesus. Let Him shape who you are and how you live. The more you walk with Him, the more your life will reflect Him.

You are not alone on this path. Jesus is walking with you, every step of the way.
