“When Clarity Has Not Yet Come”
By Dianne Prince
“The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light.” — Genesis 1:2–3 (NKJV)
God often begins His greatest works in places that appear empty or disordered. In Genesis, the earth was without form and void, yet the Spirit of God hovered with purpose. What looks like chaos to us is never confusion to Him. When your life feels unfinished or unclear, do not assume God is absent. He is present, attentive, and active. He speaks light where darkness seems dominant, and His word never returns void.
Because we long for resolution, we often grow discouraged when clarity does not come immediately. Yet God delights in working through the process. He forms before He fills. He prepares before He reveals. This season may feel hollow and void; however, every quiet act of obedience, every whispered prayer, and every moment of trust is being shaped into something good.
Resist the temptation to measure progress only by visible results. Faith is often forged in unseen places. The same God who declared, “Let there be light,” still speaks purpose into our experiences today. Stay open to His voice. Remain obedient even when the outcome is unclear.
What feels like the beginning of nothing may actually be the birthplace of everything God intends to build in you and for you—just as light emerged from the void at the very start of creation.
