“When God Whispers, Move”
By Dianne Prince
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10).
God has a specific work for each of us. That work differs for each person. And that work depends on what void in the earth God assigned to us to fill.
Today’s scripture reminds us to step out of our comfort zone if we have not already done so and step up to the call God has on our lives – no matter how large or small. That Word of encouragement we speak to a young mother who is on the brink of a break-down is just as important to God as the message spoken to the masses on Sunday morning. That reassuring smile we offer to a perfect stranger goes a long way to change the course of their day. That text or phone call we make just to say, “I was thinking about you and decided to check in” may be just what the person on the other end needed to keep going.
When we have a thought to reach out to someone, a passion to help in a certain area or a burden in our spirits to do something about a certain moral, social or economic problem, that is God quietly nudging us to take action. We are not to dismiss it as just a thought but recognize it as God quietly prompting us to do something.
Whatever God places in your heart to do to help someone else today, step out in faith and do it to the best of your ability. Whoever God places on your mind to reach out to today, stop what you are doing and reach out to them.
You were made to do good works. Step up to the assignment God has for you today. As the Nike TV commercial says, “Just do it.” People will be blessed, and God will be pleased.
