“You Are Covered”

By Dianne Prince

“For it is written: ‘He will command his angels concerning you to guard you carefully.’” —Luke 4:10 (NIV)

All around us, people are hurting. Some have watched the walls of their lives crumble. Others have lost a loved one to death. Many have seen their dreams shattered through broken engagements or divorce. Some are burdened by repeated disappointment, with no breakthrough in sight. Others are praying for a wayward child or grieving after watching a loved one sentenced in a courtroom. Still others have lost jobs they depended on.

Each of us experiences the enemy’s attacks in different ways. He comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Jesus once told Peter, “Satan desires to sift you as wheat, but I have prayed for you.”

Yet today’s Scripture reminds us not to be shaken by life’s hardships or by the uncertainty ahead. Why? Because God is fighting for us. He has commanded His angels to guard us carefully. As the old song says, “All night, all day, the angels keep watching over me.”

The message for today is this: no matter what the enemy throws your way, God has you covered. His angels surround you, protecting you from every attempt to harm you. Take your eyes off the chaos of this world. Do not dwell on the past or on what others say or do. Instead, lift your eyes to Jesus.

Do not rely on your own strength or understanding. Fix your eyes on the cross and the blood that was shed for you. As long as you have breath, there is hope. God knows exactly what you need. He is working behind the scenes, arranging people and circumstances for your good.

So stand firm in the promise of Luke 4:10: “He will command His angels concerning you to guard you carefully.” You are not alone. You are protected. And your breakthrough is on the way.
