“Your Day is in God’s Hands”

“But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord, I say, ‘You are my God.’ My times are in Your hand” (Psalm 31:14-15, NIV).
The Psalmist declares this morning that he is not going to spend a minute worrying about his problems, but hour by hour, he is going to trust God. Why? Because God has a way of providing our needs without solving our problem. He has a way of working around our problem to provide what we need for the day. In other words, the problem may still be there, but our daily needs are being met.
To trust God is to boldly tell God what you want and to wake up every morning looking for today to be the day that God delivers on what you asked Him to do.
To trust God is to wake up and go about your daily routine knowing that if God has not answered your prayer yet, what you are praying for is not needed yet.
To trust God is to live in anticipation that tomorrow will be better than today. And it is to live with the expectation that tough times do not last always.
The reminder for you today is this: when you come across a rough patch today, trust God. Seek Him to replenish your joy amid a situation that has drained your hope. Look to Him to fill you with His peace as you navigate through a relationship or a friendship that has gone sour. Lay your sickness at His feet as you pray day in and day out to be healed. Place your defiant children in His hands as they reject your sound advice and as you watch them make one unwise decision after another. And lift your financial problems to Him as you wait for a breakthrough in your struggle to make ends meet.
Even when you do not see it, God’s favor is continually resting upon you. Even when you do not feel it, God’s hand is forever upholding you. Trust Him with your today and depend on Him for your tomorrow because every minute of every day is in His hands.
