“Do Not Be Afraid”
By Dianne Prince
“And the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.’” (Luke 2:10, NKJV)
On the night Jesus was born, heaven interrupted fear with good news. The angel did not deny the darkness of the world. Instead, he declared that light had arrived. This was not temporary relief, but lasting hope—wrapped in human flesh.
We all experience fear, uncertainty, and weariness. Yet the same message still echoes today: Do not be afraid. Christ has come. He entered a broken world not to condemn it, but to redeem it. His arrival marked the turning point of history and the beginning of restoration.
Faith and hope work together in this promise. Faith anchors us in today—trusting God in what is right in front of us. Hope lifts our eyes toward tomorrow—confident that God is already at work ahead of us. Faith is like a lamp that gives light for the next step. Hope is like the sunrise, assuring us that morning is coming, even while the night lingers.
When you have prayed and relief feels distant, faith keeps you standing, and hope keeps you waiting with confidence. God sent His Son before the world was ready to receive Him, reminding us that He understands waiting, longing, and trust. Our hope is not dependent on changing circumstances, but on the faithfulness of a God who keeps His promises.
Today, trust Him for this moment. Tomorrow, rest in what He has already prepared. Christ has stepped into your story. Because Jesus is here, hope is alive, active, and unshakable. Let this truth awaken joy within you. The Savior is with us and everything changes because of His presence—fear gives way to faith, uncertainty is replaced by trust, and weariness finds rest.
