“Walk Humbly”

By Dianne Prince

“She brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger.” (Luke 2:7, NKJV)

When we picture a king, we often imagine power, wealth, and prestige. Yet the King of Kings entered the world quietly. There was no palace, no royal announcement, and no crowd gathered in awe. Jesus was born in a stable and laid in a manger. God chose simplicity on purpose.

From the very beginning, Jesus showed us that true greatness does not demand attention. He did not arrive seeking applause. He came with open hands and a servant’s heart. His birth reminds us that God works most powerfully through lives that are willing, teachable, and faithful in ordinary places.

The manger tells a powerful story. God often places His greatest gifts in the most unexpected settings. What appeared lowly held the hope of the world. What seemed insignificant became the doorway to salvation.

As we celebrate Christmas, we are invited to slow down and reflect on what truly matters. A heart of humility makes room for God’s presence. Humility looks like choosing obedience when no one is watching, serving without needing recognition, and trusting God even when you feel unnoticed. It is showing patience instead of pride, listening instead of arguing, and walking by faith when the path seems uncertain.

Your reminder for today is this: The King is here. So, walk gently, trust fully, and serve willingly.
