“Prepare Your Heart”
By Dianne Prince
“Prepare the way of the Lord; make His paths straight.” —Isaiah 40:3 (NKJV)
Long before Jesus entered the world as a baby in Bethlehem, God spoke about preparation. The call was never about having everything perfect; it was about having hearts that were ready. God was not seeking flawless people. He was seeking hearts aligned with His purpose—open, humble, and expectant.
Christmas Eve gives us time to pause. In the middle of lights, traditions, gatherings, and anticipation, God gently invites us to prepare room for Him again. Preparing our hearts means slowing down long enough to notice what has crowded Him out. It means releasing distractions, laying down worries, or letting go of unrealistic expectations we have placed on ourselves.
Jesus does not require elaborate conditions to enter our lives. He does not wait for the atmosphere to be just right. He simply looks for willing hearts—hearts that say, “Lord, You are welcome here.” When we make space for Him, we begin to recognize His presence more clearly and receive His peace more deeply.
Today, take a moment to be still. Remember why this season truly matters. The Savior is near, and He desires closeness with you—not tomorrow, not after everything settles, but right now.
Open your heart with expectation. When you make room for Jesus, He fills your space with peace, joy, and holy wonder.
