“God Is Working Beneath the Surface”
By Dianne Prince
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV)
Our faith often grows in seasons when little appears to be changing. You may be praying, showing up, and doing what is right, yet nothing looks different on the outside. Still, beneath the surface, God is arranging details you cannot see. Silence does not mean absence. Delay does not mean denial.
I am reminded of my brother who plants seeds and waits. For weeks, the soil looks unchanged, but underground roots are forming and strength is developing. Pulling up the seed too early would destroy what is growing. In the same way, God’s work is often hidden before it is revealed. Roots grow deep before fruit appears. Trust deepens before breakthroughs arrive. What feels like waiting is actually a divine setup for a blessing.
Walking by faith means choosing to believe God is active even when your circumstances feel still. It means trusting God’s character more than your conclusions. Walking by faith looks like continuing to pray for a loved one, remaining faithful in your work, or responding with grace when results are not immediate. God is never late, never careless, and never uninvolved.
If you feel overlooked or uncertain today, remember that God sees the full picture. He knows how every piece fits together. Your obedience in quiet moments matters more than you realize.
Continue doing what is right. Continue praying. Continue believing. God is faithful to complete what He begins.
What God is doing in secret will soon be revealed openly.
