“Victory Through Surrender”

By Dianne Prince

“We are human, but we do not wage war as humans do.” (2 Corinthians 10:3, NLT)

Every day we wake up in the middle of a battlefield. The enemy is relentless. His attacks come through fear, division, anger, temptation, and discouragement. There is no place to run and no place to hide. All around us are people who are hurting, angry, broken, and struggling for control.

The battle is real, and every battle requires a strategy.

As believers, God has not left us defenseless. He has given us a battle plan. His plan is not rooted in human strength but in divine dependence. He calls us to walk closely with Him through prayer, to seek Him daily through His Word, and to align our hearts with His will.

Here is the reminder we need today: God never calls us to fight with the weapons of this world. He does not tell us to get even. He does not tell us to retaliate. He does not tell us to repay hurt with hurt.

The world’s way is to strike back. God’s way is to surrender.

That surrender is not weakness. It is obedience.

We belong to God’s army now. We wear His uniform. We follow His commands. We move when He says move, and we stand still when He says stand still. His battle plan is clear: love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you.

Yes, we are human, but we do not wage war as humans do. We fight by surrendering our words, our attitudes, our actions, and our will to God. We lay down our right to control the outcome and trust Him with the results.

God never intended for us to carry battles that belong to Him. He does His greatest work in us, through us, and for us when we release our grip and place our confidence in Him. The moment we surrender what we cannot control, we make room for God to demonstrate His power.

The world says victory comes through force. God says victory comes through faith. When we surrender to Him, we discover that the strongest warrior is the one who trusts the Lord to fight the battle.
