“A Steady Walk with God”

By Dianne Prince

“He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God” (Micah 6:8, KJV)?

Today’s scripture is a powerful reminder of what God requires from us: “To act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God.”

Sometimes, our pursuit of status, wealth, and personal achievement overshadows what truly matters. Today’s scripture brings us back to the heart of our relationship with God. Acting justly means living with integrity and standing up for what is right, not just when it benefits us, but especially when it challenges us. Loving mercy calls us to reflect God’s compassion, forgiving others as He forgives us, and extending kindness to those in need. Walking humbly with God is about recognizing our dependence on Him in all things and at all times—it’s a daily surrender of our self-sufficiency, acknowledging that He is the source of everything we have and all that we have accomplished.

This simple yet profound lesson is a reminder to live out our faith with sincerity. It’s not about grand gestures but about doing the little things well when making everyday choices. It’s in how we treat those around us, how we respond to conflict, and how we manage the gifts and opportunities God has given us. When we align our lives with His purpose—justice, mercy, and humility—we reflect His heart to the world and fulfill His purpose for our lives.

May we strive each day to live out today’s scripture, drawing closer to God as we seek to be His hands and feet in a broken world.
