“When Doors Close”
By Dianne Prince
“A man’s heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps.”— Proverbs 16:9 (NKJV)
A closed doors can feel like rejection, yet Scripture reveals it is often protection. God sees what lies ahead, even when we do not. What feels like a delay is usually divine redirection. The Lord leads His people not only by open paths, but also by restrained ones.
Disappointment does not cancel our purpose. It refines it. God sometimes removes options so that our dependence on Him increases. When our plans shift, our trust must deepen. The Spirit guides us step by step, not map by map. Faith is strengthened in those moments when we walk without all the answers.
Rather than resisting redirection, seek understanding through prayer. Ask what God is teaching you instead of why He is withholding from you. His ways remain higher, and His wisdom remains perfect. He never leads us into confusion, only into greater reliance on Him.
A closed door is often proof that God is still actively directing every step you take.
