God’s Perfect Timing
By Dianne Prince
“Then the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten the produce of the land; and the children of Israel no longer had manna, but they ate the food of the land of Canaan that year.” — Joshua 5:12 (NKJV)
When the Israelites first entered the wilderness, they had no food, no farms, and no way to sustain themselves. God, in His mercy, provided manna each morning—bread from heaven that met their every need. It was daily, dependable, and divine. Yet when they reached the Promised Land and began to eat the fruit and grain of Canaan, the manna stopped. God’s method of provision changed, but His faithfulness did not.
This moment teaches an important lesson: God’s provision always matches the season you are in. In the wilderness, He provides what you cannot produce. In the land of promise, He blesses the work of your hands. The ending of manna was not a loss; it was a transition to greater abundance.
There are times when God changes how He provides. It may feel uncomfortable at first, but it is always for your growth. His supply is never late and never lacking—it is always exactly what you need, when you need it.
When one door of provision closes, trust that God has already opened another. His timing is perfect, and His care for you never ends.
