“Joy”
By Dianne Prince
“The joy of the Lord is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10, NKJV)
Joy is not the denial of life’s hardships. It is God’s presence giving us strength in the middle of them.
What does joy look like? It looks like calm in chaos. When challenges rise, joy reminds us that God is still on the throne. It steadies our emotions and helps us face uncertainty with peace.
Joy also looks like gratitude in the ordinary. It is pausing to thank God for breath in your lungs, a meal on your table, or the sunrise at the start of a new day. Gratitude shifts our focus from what is lacking to what God has already provided.
Joy is also hope in hardship. Even when circumstances are painful, joy allows us to keep believing that God is working all things together for our good. It gives us resilience to endure with faith.
And joy is peace in the unexpected. When plans change or disappointments come, joy anchors us, keeping our hearts from being shaken.
Joy is the quiet strength of God within you—calm in chaos, gratitude in the ordinary, hope in hardship, and peace in the unexpected. It is His presence lifting you above life’s storms, reminding you that no matter what comes, you can stand with faith and a heart full of thanksgiving.
