“Strength to Persevere”
By Dianne Prince
“Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore!” — 1 Chronicles 16:11 (NKJV)
Perseverance begins with where we look. When trouble rises, our first instinct is often to fix, fight, or flee. But Scripture calls us to seek—not solutions first, but the strength of the Lord. Real endurance starts in His presence.
When a crisis comes, you can either be swallowed by fear or strengthened by faith. The difference lies in where you turn. God’s strength is not reserved for the super-spiritual—it is for people like you and people like me —the exhausted mom who prays between chores, the overwhelmed student who opens their Bible before a test, or the grieving heart that keeps worshiping anyway. Yes, God’s strength is for the one who gets out of bed when they would rather stay down. It is for the single parent holding everything together. It is for you, when life feels like too much.
When we seek God’s face, we gain more than answers—we gain the assurance that we are not alone.
Seeking God is not a one-time act—it is daily, sometimes moment by moment. It is choosing to keep moving forward. It is saying, “God, I do not have the strength—but You do.”
Your reminder for today is this: Do not give up if you are in a crisis today. Instead, look up. Keep seeking. God sees you. He walks with you, and He gives you what you need to persevere, to overcome and to be victorious.
