The Promise Still Stands

By Dianne Prince

“But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you” (Mark 16:7, NIV).

There is a steady truth in today’s passage: what Jesus says, He does. What He promises will come to pass. Before the cross, He told His disciples He would rise again and meet them in Galilee. And just as He said, it happened. Even though they did not fully understand, even though they forgot, Jesus remained faithful to His Word.

That same passage also reminds us that God is a God of forgiveness and second chances. Peter failed. The disciples scattered. Fear and disappointment took over. Yet Jesus sent a message that included them all, and He called Peter by name. That was no accident. It was a reminder that failure is not final, and grace still reaches for you.

And then there is this: people do not get the last word. Circumstances do not get the last word. Jesus does. What looked like the end at the cross was only the beginning. The disciples saw Him again, just as He promised.

So here is your reminder today: Jesus is still faithful, even when we are not. Keep trusting. Keep believing. Keep praying. No matter what it looks like right now, the promise still stands. You are not at the end of your story. Jesus always has one more chapter to write.
