“When You Do Not Know What to Do—Ask God”

By Dianne Prince

“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking” (James 1:5, NLT).

When God called Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egyptian slavery, Moses doubted his ability. He asked, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh?” (Exodus 3:11). Yet, at every step, God equipped Moses for success. He gave him words to speak before Pharaoh, performed miraculous signs through him, and guided the Israelites with a pillar of cloud by day and fire by night. Moses’ reliance on God enabled him to part the Red Sea, deliver the Ten Commandments, and establish God’s people as a nation.

Often, we hesitate to take on responsibilities because we doubt our abilities. We feel unqualified or overwhelmed. But when we trust in God’s power rather than our own, He equips, empowers, shields, and sustains us.

Your reminder for today is this: Everyone needs God’s guidance. Young people need direction in choosing a career path. Middle-aged individuals need help navigating challenging relationships. Seniors need divine strength in personal struggles. Whether facing ethical dilemmas at work, responding to conflict at home, or seeking clarity on what to do about the issue of the day, we all need God’s wisdom and guidance.

Today, ask God for direction in your decisions and trust that He will guide your steps and protect you in the process. He will lead you to victory, even in your fiercest battles. Faith and obedience, coupled with seeking His presence, always lead to success, even in the face of challenges.
