“Bear Good Fruit”
By Dianne Prince
“Therefore by their fruits you will know them” (Matthew 7:20, NKJV).
Sometimes, it is not the big decisions but the small, unseen moments that shape who we are. A sharp word toward a child, a critical comment about a loved one, or a silent, doubtful thought in the face of difficulty—these can seem like minor slips. But Jesus reminds us that what we say and how we say it reveals our hearts. What we produce, even in quiet, private moments, reflects what we are rooted in.
Impatience, criticism, and negativity may feel justified in the moment, especially under stress. But these “little things” accumulate and quietly shape our character. They affect how others experience God through us. The fruit we bear—whether love or resentment, peace or frustration—is not determined in grand acts but in the small, daily decisions we make.
Jesus commands us to live from the inside out. When we walk with Him, even our smallest interactions can bear good fruit. It does not mean we will be perfect, but it means we stay aware of the kind of fruit we are bearing and ask the Spirit to prune what does not belong.
Today, let the little things matter. Slow down before reacting. Pause to bless rather than critique. Speak life in the quiet places. Fruit grows one choice at a time—and when rooted in Christ, it is always good.
