“Faith in the Waiting”

By Dianne Prince

“Then God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the animals that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided.”
(Genesis 8:1, NIV)

In our scripture today, Noah, his family, and the animals are still in the ark. The Bible tells us that God caused a wind to blow, and the floodwaters began to recede. After one hundred and fifty days, the worst had passed.

Though the rain had stopped, the earth remained flooded. Noah and his family could not leave the ark just yet. They waited—and eventually, the mountain tops came into view. You know the story: Noah sent out a raven, which flew back and forth as the waters continued to dry. Then he sent a dove, but it found no place to land and returned.

Noah waited again and sent the dove a second time. This time, it returned with a freshly picked olive leaf. He knew the end of the flood was near. After another seven days, he released the dove once more, and it did not return. The waiting was finally over.

Here is the reminder for you today: Hold on to your faith in the middle of impossible circumstances. Wait patiently on the Lord when nothing seems to move and every door appears closed. Keep sending up prayers when your strength is gone and when every solution you try fails.

Do not give up on God, and do not give in to the temptation to stop praying. Why? Because God specializes in resurrecting what seems lost. He knows how to open doors no one can shut. Even when hope seems distant, God is quietly working behind the scenes.

If you are waiting for guidance, deliverance, or breakthrough—today’s message is clear: prayer and patience will carry you through until your day of victory comes. Be deliberate in your patience and intentional in your prayers, even when life is at a standstill.

Why? Because today might be the day God does the unexpected, the extraordinary, the miraculous—just for you.
