“When You Can’t, God Can”
“I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me? (Jeremiah 32:27)
In our scripture this morning, things are not looking good for Israel. The children of Israel are in captivity. The prophet, Jeremiah is in jail. And the king, Zedekiah has turned his back on God and is leading with his own wisdom. There is a famine in the land. There is war on every hand. There is disease all around. Jerusalem is in ruins. The house of God has been destroyed. And to top that, the children of God have no men with skills to fight their enemies.
In the midst of this impossible situation, God Gives His people an encouraging word. He declares, “I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?” (Jeremiah 32:27)
Be reminded today that when you cannot see a way out, God always has an encouraging Word for you. When there are several sub-plots going on in your life and none of them look good, remember to ask yourself, “Is anything too hard for God?” Remember today, when you can’t, God can. When you feel you cannot go on, remember, God will give you a new burst of energy. When you are ready to give up hope, remember that God has the power to turn around your hopeless situation. When your resources have dried up, remember God has a supply that he has not released into your life yet. And when your prayers concerning your children, your family or your spouse go unanswered, remember that God is not through with that situation yet.
Be encouraged today because God specializes in impossible conditions. He shows up in the most desolate circumstances. He restores broken down places. He makes something out of nothing. He carves a path in the midst of a jungle. He provides a refreshing spring of water in the midst of a desert land. He speaks light where there is darkness, and He breathes life into dead things.
Today, boldly place your concerns at the feet of Jesus because when you can’t handle them, God certainly can. He is the Lord, the God of all mankind. And nothing is too hard for Him. (Jeremiah 32:27)
